Beehive hexagon cupcake toppers will make your baby shower! They’re so darling and so easy to make with my Bee Baby Shower Cricut cartridge. Make sure you pop over to the full baby shower, a lovely yellow and gray gender reveal, What Will It Bee?!
Now let’s make my easy beehive cupcake toppers with a 3-D bee buzzing around! {grin}
Since Cricut makes those intricate cuts so easily, I chose to make the cupcake topper a series of hexagons. You can craft these beehive hexagon cupcake toppers with layered banner and bee in just a few minutes. You’ll need:
- Cricut Explore™ machine
- Cricut Design Space™ software
- 12”x12” StandardGrip Cricut® mat
- White Cardstock (or Photo Paper)
- Foam Adhesive Squares
- Glue circles
- Bamboo sticks or lollipop sticks
- Bee Baby Shower cartridge (if you’re not logged in, you’ll need to login to Design Space)
Easy instructions and MAKE IT NOW in Design Space:
- Print then Cut – Follow the instructions in Cricut Design Space™ to print then cut the images onto white cardstock or photo paper. Tip: Choose “photo quality” in your printer settings for the best color saturation.
- Assemble – Layer the banner and bee on hexagon hives with foam adhesive squares for a 3-D look.
- Attach – Add paper craft toppers to bamboo sticks with glue dots and insert into cupcakes!
Cutting these bees out by hand would take forever, but the Cricut buzzes them out in a minute or two. (I know… shameless puns! :)
I love the “What Will It Bee?” banners too. Just pop them out by using small foam adhesive squares!
See how they look 3-D from the top! You can see the shadows and dimension. There is actually a third layer to the banner (just where the words are) in Design Space if you’d like to pop it out even further. That’s what I love about Cricut, it’s all completely up to the crafter!
For all the individual print/cut and cut designs in this baby shower collection, log in to your Design Space account, open a new project and search “Kim Byers” under cartridges. Or, if you’re already logged in, have a look at Bee Baby Shower! You can also hop over to my Kim Byers brand page with Cricut to see some “make it now” projects using all of the elements in the set.
I used these cupcake toppers with just the bees for a spring brunch I threw as well. Make sure you hop over and see how that party all came together before you go.
Here’s a look at almost all of the coordinating paper crafts in my gender reveal baby shower collection. In addition to the table elements, I have a completely customizable invitation and thank you set too!
Hop over to my Cricut crafts category archive: for lots of party paper crafts, DIY TShirt ideas (like this Makers Gonna Make), vinyl mugs, custom canvas prints (darling Disney inspired quote) and more!
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
