Now that school is starting up all across the country we moms are looking for creative ways to get the kids to do their homework or study for a test without us having to ask… like a million times. {smirk}
For our family, it’s all about creating the perfect study spot. Something that is uniquely your child. Everyone learns differently and the key is finding what they consider comfortable. Some kids want a desk with all the organization. And some kids want to snuggle up and work off their lap. I’ve collected ideas for both!
Take my oldest, he fell in LOVE with this waffle chair during a recent visit to Target so I chose to use it as a starting point for boys and went a more classic route for girls. Again though, it’s all about the individual child. Some boys will want a desk and some girls will prefer a lap desk.
So here we go!
Study spot ideas for the organized girl:
- Polka dot desk accessories from PB Teen
- Wire lamp (I suggest using a day light bulb, dim light and studying equals sleeping in my house) from Target
- Insulated chevron mug from Target (perfect for coffee if they’re old enough OR hot chocolate!!!)
- White Braxton desk (with lots of storage) from Target
- Chevron desk chair from Target
- Cork monogram initial (for all her pictures and notes) from Target
Study spot ideas for the laid back boy:
- Waffle chair from Target
- Camo lap desk with built in storage from PB Teen
- Mini cooler from PB Teen
- Music wall decal from Amazon
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
