As with most everyone else, I’m loving all things pumpkin right now! Today I have a simple DIY pumpkin embroidery hoop craft for your home that I know you will love!
Embroidery hoops are so easy to craft with. As a little girl I had a number of them that I used to cross-stitch with at my grandmother’s house. My favorites were the little ones because I could easily get my hands around them, but it just meant a lot of ironing when the design was done. {grin}
Now, I use them more for quickly hanging pretty fabrics. And this JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores polka dot had me at first sight. It’s hard to tell from this pick, but the white is really ivory and it’s oh so pretty!
Make these easy DIY pumpkin and jack-o-lantern hoop pumpkins:
- JoAnn Polka Dot fabric (for these two I used less than one yard)
- Darice embroidery hoops (one large, one tiny)
- Coredinations Polka Dot cardstock (1 sheet)
- Burlap (1/4 yard)
- Raffia
- Scissors
- Glue (wood or paper and fabric)
Easy steps:
- Cut fabric – cut to fit hoop, seal tightly
- Tie – tie raffia to metal screw
- Cut paper – cut stems, odd shapes work great
- Cut jack-o-lantern faces – be creative
- Attach – attach stem with paper or wood glue
- Attach – attach jack-o-lantern face with fabric glue
Told you it was easy!
