Halloween is such a good time in our neighborhood. Kids running everywhere… and I mean hundreds of kids. And every year we make hot chocolate for Trick-or-Treat night! Monster hot chocolate… with creature candy bark! {wink}
Our neighborhood is everything I wanted when I was a kid. Bright crunchy leaves blowing in the street, kids running a muck, laughter and tons of candy! There are so many kids we actually move the fire pit around to the driveway and make it easy on the little goblins since there is really no reason to even close the door!
But living in Ohio isn’t all perfect. It’s darn chilly! And Monster Hot Chocolate has become a tradition for the haunting night!
I choose Tru Moo chocolate milk. It’s amazingly smooth and creamy and what’s best, Tru Moo starts with fresh milk from trusted dairy farms, with no artificial growth hormones and add just the right amount of sugar.
My oldest loves whip in his hot chocolate and my youngest loves a chocolate monster eye spoon to stir with! {grin}
Want to make my creature candy bark?
It’s so amazingly simple. You’ll need dark chocolate and lime green melting chocolates (in your baking isle at your local craft store) and candy eyes. Melt the chocolate in 10 second increments in a glass bowl in the microwave, stirring in between. Spread the chocolate out on wax paper and add candy eyes sporadically. Allow the chocolate to harden (usually about 10 minutes), break into bark and serve!
