Snail candySo vacation is finally over and I had so many fun ideas over the holidays. I only hope I can find all those scraps of paper I wrote them on! {wink} Here’s one that I thought was just too adorable not to share for our bugs and butterflies theme from our friends at Martha Stewart.

It’s easy to turn candy into lively decorations and ornaments. When you cut into a gummy candy, you expose the sticky interior; this built-in adhesive is the primary tool for assembling these creatures. The larger the sticky surface, the better the parts will hold. These snails are simply hard candies for the shell and their faces are spice drops fitted with licorice-twist antennae and nonpareil eyes.

Place one of these at each place setting and watch your guests marvel. Or, better yet, let this be a activity during your gathering and the kids can show off their creative bug creatures.
