Okay, so for my mom’s “favorite things,” I started with cherry cordial candies. The foundation and inspiration for this gift is a small box of old fashioned candy. When my mom was a girl, her dad always made sure that she and her eight siblings (I know… my poor grandmother must have been exhausted), had cherry cordial candy at Christmas. When she opens the box she will immediately think of her parents and that will be a Christmas gift in itself. From there, I thought about what else would make her reminisce about Christmases past. My second thought was for the coffee mugs. She and I drink a lot of coffee when we’re together baking and crafting (yes, the gene for creativity runs in the family). She loves old fashion stick candy canes (they’re soft so they melt in her coffee), she loves peppermint and chocolate (plus I plan to snag a few of those), she has a thing for owls, and fluffy throws for when she curls up next to the fire to watch a good movie.
By the way, whatever you think I spent on this gift… I didn’t. I spent much less. And she’s going to love it so shhhhh and don’t tell her!
