I love making crafts that help me capture my kids hand prints, footprints, thumbprints… {grin} This year we’re making a few… the first is this darling thumbprint wreath ornament. It’s the perfect Christmas keepsake ornament!
You can make this pretty little ornament in less than 20 minutes. The kids will have fun, make a little bit of a mess and you’ll have a treasure.
You’ll need a few things from the craft store for this easy kid craft idea:
- Mini canvas
- 2 shades of green paint
- Mini red poms
- Ribbon
- Bells
- Glitter (ultra fine)
- Elmer’s glue (School Glue for poms, X-treme Glue for ribbon attachment)
And here are the super simple DIY steps:
- Paint – using alternating green paint, have your child make a circle
- Glitter – while the paint is still wet (and it dries quickly) sprinkle ultra fine white glitter over the wreath
- Glue – add mini red poms for berries using Elmer’s school glue
- Ribbon – tie two thin ribbons in a bow and add bells. glue to top of wreath with Elmer’s X-treme Glue. Allow to dry for five minutes before hanging.
Merry Christmas! And as always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
