So I’ve been talking back to school around here for weeks and the big day is next Thursday… only six shorts days away. Eeek! I’ve got the best DIY back to school teacher gift for the kids to give to their new teachers.
And the only way I will survive is by being organized, being motivated… and oh yea… being awesome! {wink}
So to remind myself, I created a few easy vinyl designs for my favorite coffee canister and a simple clear plastic clipboard, using my new Cricut Explore! I love… love… love that the Explore allows me to load my own designs for free!
You’ll need a few things in addition to the Explore. Let’s start with the clipboard:
- clear clipboard
- black vinyl
- ruler
- your own motivational text (or my art file)
- sheet of white paper
Step 1 – Start a new project with the clipboard template.
Step 2 – Write within the editing tool. You can even use all your own fonts. (Or create in another program and upload.)
Step 3 – Follow the steps. Load your vinyl. Press cut.
Step 4 – Load a piece of ordinary white craft paper and cut your design a second time. Or, if you make your own image, print it from your computer. Place it under the clear clipboard as your guide for placing your vinyl.
And now for the coffee canister. You’ll need:
- coffee canister, preferably without a lot of contour
- silver vinyl
- your own motivational text (or my art file)
Step 1 – Start a new project with the canister template. Adjust the size to the dimensions of your coffee canister.
Step 2 – Write within the editing tool. You can even use all your own fonts. (Or create in another program and upload.)
Step 3 – Follow the steps. Load your vinyl. Press cut.
Step 4 – Carefully peel off each vinyl letter and place it on your container. Hand wash gently.
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate! Oh… and dont’ forget… BE AWESOME!
