Halloween is coming and my kiddos are counting down the days with this easy Halloween pallet sign art.
I saw an idea from Laura at the Corner House on I Heart Naptime last year and I swore I’d make a version for my kiddos. And this year it happened, except I decided to go economical and use a free recycled pallet from my husband’s office. {grin}
To make your own Halloween countdown pallet sign art you’ll need:
- Pallet
- Orange and white craft paint
- Flat black spray paint
- Block number and letter stencils
- Nails (hangers for letters)
- Planks (cut into squares and drilled in the same spot for the nail)
- Candy Corn template
Now for the easy do it yourself steps:
Space plan – I suggest you “layout” the design before you use a drop of paint. I used strips of paper and a Sharpie.
Measure – Determine the size of your number (date) blocks. Mine were 3×3 inches, but it will vary with the size of the pallet.
Cut – You’ll need 14 blocks (0-3 for the left and 0-9 for the right)
Spray paint – Paint the number blocks with two coats of flat black paint
Stencil – Measure the center point for each word and start stenciling
My boys love changing the numbers each day and I love to see the excitement on their faces as we get closer to all that candy! I may or may not pick out all my favorites while they’re sleeping… {wink}
And you see these cute pumpkins?! I’ll be posting about these and a few more pumpkin ideas in my next post. Stay tuned!
