I’m thrilled to share a look at the brand new Cricut Explore Air 2. And to share how completely easy it is to design on the go with the Cricut app.
I’m going to show you a close up of the new machine first, but I just have to give you a peek at this mug I whipped up. I saw this phrase on a t-shirt… a man’s t-shirt… and so I opened my Cricut Design Space app, started a new project (so I would remember what I wanted to do), saved it (all without wifi) and finished it up when I got home. I wanted the phrase… just not the shirt. {wink} LOVE being able to design on the go!
Ok, so let’s have a look at this new Cricut Explore Air 2!
You can cut and write up to 2 times faster than the previous Cricut Explore models with this DIY speed machine. It also cuts over 100 materials – everything from cardstock, vinyl, and iron-on to thicker materials like leather. Quickly. Beautifully. From cards to custom t-shirts to home décor, Cricut helps you create DIY projects in minutes. Design on the go on your favorite laptop, iPad or iPhone. The Cricut line of products will truly revolutionize the way you craft!
Have you ever been in a store, seen something and thought “I could make that!” Me too. All the time! Cricut has made it increasingly easy for crafters like us to “hack” our favorite ideas. If you’re like me, you like to put your own spin on things, or you might see an idea and it makes you think of a completely different idea… this is when the Design Space app is invaluable. I used to send myself text messages {giggle} but now I design on the go!
Want to know how to make this easy I Can’t Adult Today coffee mug?
You’ll need a few supplies:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Design Space (my project)
- Standard Mat
- Black Foil Adhesive
- Weeding Tool
- Transfer Tape
- Mug
- (Optional: Hexagon dish)
Easy DIY steps:
- Prep – open Design Space project and make any tweaks to the design you’d like.
- Measure – measure your mug and resize design if needed.
- Cut – load foil onto mat, and cut.
- Weed – weed out the excess design.
- Apply – use transfer tape to apply the design to the mug.
(Tip: Wash the mug by hand to prolong the design.)
Rather watch a quick video? Me too! Here are my thoughts on the new machine, as well as a quick tutorial for the mug!
I few minutes of crafting and you get a super funny… and oh so true… mug. If you know me at all, you know I’m a big kid! {wink}
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
