Valentine Rice Krispies Treats

I’m hosting a Valentine playdate this week for my Kindergartener and some of his friends. So this weekend I tested my idea for an easy Valentine snack, Cupid’s Arrow Rice Krispies Treats.

Valentine Treats

I think they turned out really well! And so did my boys. I caught them sneaking them just after I photographed them. I live with two comedians… {grin}

To make my heart Rice Krispies Treats with cupid arrow, you’ll need:

  • Rice Krispies treats prepared (still warm)
  • Heart cookie cutter
  • Butter (for your hands and the cookie cutter)
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Paper straws
  • Pink paper (triangle for tip and rectangle with triangle cut out of one end and fringed for feather)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Wax paper

And here are the super easy steps for making shaped Rice Krispies:

  1. Apply butter to your hands, your cookie cutter and a bit to your wax paper.
  2. Mold your Rice Krispies into the cookie cutter and set aside each heart.
  3. Once you’ve made all your hearts, pierce them with a lollipop stick.
  4. Cut a paper straw and slip it on each end of the lollipop stick.
  5. Cut paper as noted above, glue to straw ends

It’s that simple to make Cupid’s Arrow Rice Krispies Treats. Happy Monday and Valentine week everyone!

And as always I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
