Hi everyone! I whipped up a few fabric goodie bag designs for Christmas gift giving.
I’m sharing one here and I’m thrilled to be over at Amy’s blog, Positively Splendid, as part of her Swell Noel, sharing a second tutorial!
So let’s get crafty and make a few goodie bags. They’re easy to make, easy to personalize and fun to share!
First you’ll need to make a Snowflake Cork Stamp. Grab a wine cork, Sharpie and Xacto knife. Draw a basic snowflake with the Sharpie, trim it out with the Xacto knife and instant stamp!
Now that you have your snowflake, you’ll also need:
- Red canvas (my bags are 4 1/2″ x 6″ each and my fabric is from JoAnn)
- White thread
- Sewing machine (I used a simple blanket stitch)
- White and blue fabric paint
- Letter stamps (S-N-O-W-B-A-L-L-S)
- Pinking shears
- Fine paint brush
- White gumballs (I got mine from Candy Gallaxy)
And now for the easy DIY steps:
- Cut red canvas in 4.5″ x 6″ pieces, you’ll need two per bag.
- Using a fine paint brush, lightly paint each stamp and apply design to fabric.
- Allow paint to dry completely.
- Set sewing machine to blanket stitch and sew three edges.
- Trim off the top of each bag with pinking shears.
- Fill with candy. I used large white gumballs… SNOW BALLS. {wink}
