Hey everyone! It’s Bridget.
“Where’s my bookmark?” has been the mantra of our summer in my house. Between summer reading and lots of rainy days, we’ve logged a lot of reading and craft time.
So my oldest decided to combine the two and make his own bookmarks using beads and ribbons. He was inspired by a craft done earlier in the summer at his vacation bible school. We love that these bookmarks don’t harm the binding or pages of the book. Not to mention, they are pretty darn cute, too!
To make your own bookmark, you’ll need:
- beads
- ribbon
- charms (optional)
- scissors
In no time at all, my son and I made a dozen of these little charmers in all sorts of themes (holidays, school colors, initials). Make sure you cut the ribbon long enough to mark your page with the beads outside of the binding.
My guy is determined to make enough for each classmate as a back-to-school gift on the first day of school. {grin} I, too, was inspired and will be making a beaded bookmark for each of my Girl Scouts with beads to represent each part of the Girl Scout Law.
As always, we hope you are inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
