I owe this post to my sweet neighbors. They were playing on their sidewalk last week (as you can see… Day 55 of our summer photo journaling) with DIY sidewalk chalk paint. It looked like so much fun so of course I had to run home and make some for my boys.
Here’s how you can make a batch of easy DIY chalk paint for your kiddos (and YES, it washes right away with a good rain or the hose!). You’ll need:
- Cornstarch
- Food coloring
- Water
- Plastic cups and paint brushes
And the easy steps:
- Make a batch of paint (1:1 ratio of cornstarch to water). It will be thick, so if you prefer watery paint, just add more water to your mixture.
- Separate your paint into plastic cups
- Add food coloring
- Mix
- Paint
A big thank you to Emma and Ally for the idea and the creativity!
By the way, if you want to know more about photo journaling with your iPhone, I have a few tips for you.
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
