Need last minute Valentine mailbox ideas for your child’s class party? I made this owl Valentine mailbox in just minutes with my little guy out of a tissue box.
Easy “how to” make a Valentine mailbox supplies and instructions:
- Tissue box (this one is a Kleenex box… love the pattern!)
- Orange, yellow and blue scrapbook paper
- glue
- adhesive dots (if you want the eyes to appear raised)
- 1″ circle punch
- 2″ circle punch
- optional: fringe scissors… or you can just cut the strips {grin}
And steps:
- Open and remove tissues before you decorate
- Punch two 2″ orange circles and two 1″ yellow circles
- Cut a large triangle for the nose
- Cut two large curved triangles for the ears and fringe
- Cut two fatter triangles for the wings. Curve and fringe the base.
- Attach ears, wings, nose, orange eye
- Add a foam adhesive dot to the orange eye and add the yellow center
Cutting tip: Cut one ear/one wing and use as the template for the other side. For the wings, remember to turn the paper if the front and back of our paper are not the same.
