So who’s watching the Oscars tomorrow? This is one of those annual events that gives you a great excuse to call all the girls over, deck out your bar cart, dish about what movies you loved, what stars wore it best, and to of course sip amazing drinks and nibble (or gobble) on divine sweets. {wink}
When I have a girls night in I like to doll up the space a little. My girls are worth it!
This year I shopped Bed Bath & Beyond. As someone who entertains a lot, whether it be friends or family, I like to have staple entertaining dishes. I can’t go shop for new things every time I host a gathering, so I tend to buy table decor and accessories that I can use over and over. Bed Bath & Beyond is perfect for this because they have a very wide variety of glass and white dinnerware and serving dishes in their tabletop section. This said, their online selection is so vast, I challenge you to not be able to find the color, style or price you want.
My gold bar cart is a must in my house. When I don’t have enough counter space to serve everything, or I want to serve in a specific room, I roll out the bar cart. If the gold isn’t quite your style, Bed Bath & Beyond has a nice assortment of bar and beverage carts to choose from. I have my eye on this Gregory Bar Cart for a more rustic look!
In addition to my new punch bowl (something I’ve been wanting for a while because my old one is sooooo out of date…), I picked up the most beautiful Luigi Bormioli red wine glasses and champagne flutes.
I decided it was perfectly okay to serve my sangria in these lovely glasses since there is a red wine base. Don’t judge me! {grin}
Here’s my Red Wine Sangria Recipe. It’s easy to make, but amazingly delish! You’ll need:
- Bottle of red wine, preferably Merlot
- 1/2 gallon lemonade
- 1 naval orange
- 1 cup blackberries
- 3 cups strawberries (I like strawberries!)
Simply combine lemonade and red wine, add sliced fruit and allow to sit for at least 2 hours. Overnight in my opinion is best, so the fruit really absorbs all the flavors.
I love sangria, but it wouldn’t be the Oscars without a little champagne. {wink} These flutes are perfect. They have SON.hyx technology so they’re totally transparent and resistant to breakage. I think I’m in LOVE!
I also picked these drink coasters up at Bed Bath & Beyond. I couldn’t resist them… they’re stripes and y’all know how I feel about stripes! They’re not available online, but they do have the most amazing Kate Spade black and white coaster set. I know you girls like a little Kate Spade in your life.
No party would be complete without something amazing to eat. So in addition to my sparkly beverages, I’m serving starstruck Vanilla Bean Cupcakes and Cake Doughnuts. Like my play on words there… ;) I grabbed square white appetizer plates and appetizer forks so that it will be easy for guests to nibble. I’m also serving popcorn (a must!). I mean this is the movies right?!
Beyond the table, embellish everything with easy gold glitter star garland. I personally like hanging things with clear fishing line so the strings are virtually invisible.
Hang a few gold and white honeycombs, and you have a star studded bash perfect for a girls night in watching the Oscars!
Bed Bath and Beyond, as the name implies, is so much more than just tabletop. Make sure you hop over to their Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest feeds to be inspired for all the corners of your home! Y’all know I’m building a house right now. Well I can’t wait to go shop all our new bedding and bathroom accessories!
As always, I hope you’re inspired to craft, bake, create and celebrate!
