My oldest is obsessed with science. Yep, he’s five and has been certain about his “profession to be” for almost a year now. So you can imagine how excited I was to see such a colorful science birthday party display in this month’s issue of Parents magazine.
They recycled Dad’s old dress shirts into lab coats and dressed them up a bit with safely goggles, rubber gloves and an “official” scientist name tag to complete the look.
And I simply love they way they set up a make-your-own sundae station by filling plastic graduated cylinders and petri dishes with candy, cake, and cereal using tongs, measuring cups, and funnels as scoops. My guy would love this!
I can imagine the mess, but how cool to use food coloring to tint one glass of water yellow and another blue, then have kids use a dropper to race to mix up a third cup of green water. Fun!
And what about these favors: jumbo plastic test tubes filled with rock-candy crystals. I found the test tubes at Oriental Trading.Yum!
