Treat Your Halloween Guests To Fun & Spooky Recipes

Every year we serve hot cocoa and fun Halloween treats to our guests while trick-or-treaters run up and down our drive. It’s one of my favorite nights of the holiday season.

Let me show you how to make three amazing snacks that all your little ghosts and goblins will love!

This year for our Halloween treats, I’m serving haunted hot cocoa with hazelnut wafer cookies as stir sticks, poisonous popcorn and skull sandwich cookies.

Hot cocoa is always a must here in Ohio on Halloween. It can get pretty chilly. My kids usually wear longjohns under their costumes. Obviously, it’s better than coats over them. {wink}

Okay, let’s get baking and decorating. And let’s start with the haunted hot cocoa!

To make haunted hot cocoa, you’ll need: World Market Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix, World Market Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Whip Cream, Hot Water or Milk, and World Market Rolled Wafer Cookies.

I used two heaping scoops of cocoa mix with hot milk for a creamy blend, topped it with whip cream and shavings of sea salt dark chocolate. Let me tell you… it’s amazing! Add in a rolled wafer as a stir stick and your guests will be giddy.

I’ll share more on how to make these super fun spooky eye mugs tomorrow. Yep, I made them! So super easy! I picked up the mugs while at World Market and used vinyl to make them… fun. {wink}

Okay, let’s move on to the poisonous popcorn!

This one is super simple to make and my kids thought it was so funny. I’m not much on icky Halloween treats. A good jump or a giggle though, I’m all about it! Cole, my youngest, actually walked up to the box to sneak a bite while I was out of the studio and started laughing out loud. I guess my candy eye balls weren’t too scary, but they sure got a giggle!

For this one, you’ll need: World Market Popcorn (lightly salted and kettle corn both worked great), World Market Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Candy Eyes

The best part of this little Halloween treat, it takes literally two minutes to make! Just pour your popcorn into a bowl, shave the dark chocolate sea salt over the bowl (a pair of kitchen scissors works great), toss in some candy eyes and toss! Fill up some fun little boxes and you’re ready! I made these boxes to go with my poisonous theme. I’ll show you how to make them next week. {wink}

And last, but not at all least, skull sandwich cookies! These are for my little guy. He has food allergies so I always try to make two or three things for every party that he can share with his friends. Something he can have and they’ll love!

For these, you’ll need the World Market skull cookie stamp and you’ll want the skull cookie jar! {wink}
