Where Hope Grows – New Faith Based Movie Sneak Peek, Premiers May 15

It’s no secret that I’m Christian. I lean on my faith daily to raise my boys and live my life. But did you know that growing up I had an aunt with Down Syndrome? She was amazing. The upcoming movie, Where Hope Grows from Godspeed Pictures, is a great new film that focuses on finding redemption through faith, hope, and love and it puts a shining focus on the pure heart of some really beautiful people.*

My boys and I curled up Sunday and watched the premier of Where Hope Grows. It’s a powerful film that discusses some really difficult, but all too common, problems in today’s society. What I connected with most in the film, is that really good people can lose their way and sometimes the love of a kind stranger can bring them back. In the case of Where Hope Grows, that stranger is a young Down Syndrome boy, who goes by the nickname of Produce (because he works in produce at a local grocery).

Watching this movie reminds me of my amazing Aunt Nita and her unwavering kindness and optimism. I’ve known multiple Down Syndrome children and adults throughout my life and they all have one common thread, happiness. Although they have mental disabilities and sometimes physical, God blessed this group of people with a happiness gene that I wish were contagious.

If you have someone in your life who has an addiction, needs some encouragement, or just loves a good faith based film, I recommend you take them out to the movies on May 15! Check your local theater for showtimes and availability.
