This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and EDWARDS®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #EdwardsPies http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I have this amazing neighbor. He did something for us recently that deserved more than just a simple “thank you.” He deserved pie! And that is where the EDWARDS® pie comes in. {wink}
My boys, Alex and Cole, have a deep love for sports and we pretty much play some type of competitive sport all year round. We all love it. They love playing and we love watching them play (and maybe cheering loudly on the sidelines). This said, we’ve always had a family policy to play only one sport at a time. It’s hard, but we feel that they need that balance and focus to really enjoy the sport.
Well, this spring my boys both had a fantastic baseball season. They both were chosen for All Stars and my youngest, Cole, even won the gold in the pitching competition. Typically Cole plays football in the fall while Alex takes a break before basketball season, but this year we looked into fall baseball… and that is when it got complicated. Cole wanted to play both football and baseball. Eeek!
It was extremely tough on him and on me. He was so torn and I almost broke. Those beautiful blue eyes staring up at me… my heart melted and I almost… almost… gave in and doomed our family to three months of constant practice and games. We would have only had Sundays off!
Okay… so the pie. My neighbor happens to run the football league in our area. He’s this really jovial guy, an awesome dad of two happy kids, kind hubby according to the Mrs., and just all-around fun. He knows how much Cole loves football so when the application didn’t come in he checked in on us. Cole was so torn and I was so torn that my neighbor extended the deadline by two days to give us time to fret over it more. And fret we did! In the end, we settled on no football for this season. We both feel good about the decision to focus only on baseball now that it is finally over. But I really appreciated that kind gesture of giving us the extra time. And in my house, that appreciation called for Edwards pie!
So, I hopped over to Walmart and picked up a pie… okay… two. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what kind to get him. I mean, there are just so many flavors and all for about $5!
- EDWARDS® HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Crème Pie
- EDWARDS® Key Lime Pie
- EDWARDS® Turtle Pie
- EDWARDS® New York Style Cheesecake
- EDWARDS® Lemon Meringue Pie
- EDWARDS® Cookies and Crème Pie
- EDWARDS® HERSHEY’S® SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Crème Pie
- EDWARDS® REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUP® Crème Pie
- EDWARDS® Strawberry Crème Pie
I ended up grabbing the EDWARDS® HERSHEY’S® SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Crème Pie and EDWARDS® Cookies and Crème Pie and keeping one for the family. I mean… we deserved pie too… right?! {wink}
I whipped up a little card and a little pie food pick. I wanted him to see right away that I think he’s “ALL THAT AND A SLICE OF PIE!”
He was so funny, as always, when we took it over. I’m so glad we stopped and took a few minutes to put it together for him and his lovely little family. Gift giving and saying thank you doesn’t have to be hard. As a matter of fact, it can be sweet. {grin}
