Donut Worry! Back to school will be sweet this year! {wink} My kids love a clever fun food. Over the years, they’ve come to expect that I’ll make a fun food on holidays and big occasions. This year back to school is a bit special because they’ll be starting a new school in a new state… They say they’re fine, but I’m a nervous wreck!
I always loved the back to school season when I was a kid and my kids truly do too, but just to make sure that first morning is super fun, I made these food labels and encouraging little food flags for their donuts. Now, I have to be honest that I likely won’t have time to make homemade donuts on the first day of school, but my local grocery bakery department has me covered. I can always count on them to back me up when I don’t have time to make things myself. {grin}
I made these FREE PRINTABLES for every grade from preschool to senior year. You can download your kiddos grade below!
Back To School Donuts, You’ll Need
- Donuts, big and glistening with glaze from your local grocery bakery (or cinnamon rolls, muffins, so much to choose from!)
- Loaf liners
- Wax paper
- Cardstock
- Free printable
- Printer
- Scissors
- Washi tape or glue dots
Craft Printable Labels
The how to is so easy, especially since you don’t have to bake! From start to finish you need less than 10 minutes!
- Bakery run – stop by the bakery department at your local grocery store and pick up those big donuts (or you can opt for muffins or cinnamon rolls… pick their favorite!)
- Print – select the right grade level and print on cardstock
- Cut – cut out the small labels and food flags.
- Attach – attach the labels to the loaf liner, and the flags to toothpicks
- Give – cut small pieces of wax paper and use it to pick up each donut, insert flags and give
For me, and maybe it’s my southern heritage, but food pretty much equals love in my book. {wink} Make sure your little ones (big and small) know you’re thinking of them on that first day back to school this year, with this super simple and sweet way to make them smile. And let your local grocery store bakery do the heavy lifting, plus their donuts are oh so yummy!
