Book Lovers DIY Coffee Mug

I’m a book lover. I pick one up every chance I get. There is just something about getting lost in a story. And… if you didn’t know… I’m a huge coffee lover too. {wink} And in honor of all of you, who are like me, I crafted this super cute DIY coffee mug using my new BOOK NERD graphic. This design is a print then cut in Cricut Design Space, which makes it perfect for printable vinyl, sticker sheets, printable fabric and of course cardstock!

I recently designed 28 new graphics for back to school with Cricut. Three are available in Cricut Design Space today, and the other 25 will be available very soon. I created funny mugs typography, personalized book labels, preppy owls, smart book worms, patterns, first day of school photography props, and so much more. I can’t wait to share it all with you. For this quick little DIY book lover coffee mug, you’ll need one of my favorite new Cricut finds, printable vinyl. I’ve actually had it in my craft room for months and never used it. Wow was I missing out. It prints beautifully and sharp.

To make our book lover mug, we’ll need just a few things:

• Book Nerd Graphic in Cricut Design Space
• Cricut Explore™ machine
• Cricut 12”x12” StandardGrip mat
• Cricut Printable Vinyl
• Cricut Weeding Tool
• Cricut Transfer Tape
• Mug
• Ruler

Simple how to steps:

1. Prep – Measure your mug’s width and height, paying close attention to any curved areas. (NOTE: Curves can sometimes cause the vinyl to crease.) Size the graphic in Design Space to your mug.
2. Cut – Cut, weed, and apply transfer tape, the same height and width of the mug.
3. Assemble – Lay your mug on its side, and using the transfer tape guides, center the design on the mug. Remove transfer tape slowly.

(Tip – Hand wash your mug for a long lasting vinyl design.)
