I’m remodeling my office and I still have a bit to go, but I wanted to share my first must-have, an electric hanging fireplace from Build.com. Oh yes! Oh my! This southern girl is going to win the war (at least inside my house) against old man winter!
Have I told you… I know I have. I strongly, emphatically, dislike January through mid-April in Ohio. I don’t mind the snow when it’s 28 degrees and you can play in it. But when the windchill is -28, as it was much this winter… I’m dreaming of hot chocolate and warming my toes near the fire. So one of my first choices when remodeling my office was just that. I decided to get a wall mount fireplace to keep me from freezing when I hit the office in the early morning hours.
I was planning this DIY on my own and I have to be honest, I was a little nervous. My hubby is amazing at installing things, painting things, helping with things… but he is also an incredibly busy guy and so when I was searching for just the right fireplace, I needed it to be something that I could manage.
Which meant I needed to buy it from somewhere that had good descriptions, great customer service for all my questions, and would deliver it right to my house. Build.com had me covered! On each product page, there are different sections with PDF instructions, installation videos, Q&A, reviews, and product specialist contact information help. They want to make sure your project goes as smoothly as possible and they mean it! And what’s more, the delivery man in his huge 18-wheel truck in my little neighborhood was even nice. {wink}
And since the house thermostat is located in my office, I decided to upgrade us to a new programmable thermostat so I didn’t end up warm and toasty and freezing the rest of my family. Yep… It would have happened!
What’s best about the thermostat is that you can operate it with your cell. Not that I’m lazy or anything {rolling eyes}, but the fireplace has a remote and the thermostat can be operated from my cell. Let me paint the picture. Me, early in the morning, with a blanket on my lap, fireplace on, two remotes… Oh… and a cup of hot coffee. It’s a bit of heaven and I’m super productive! {wink}
