This Fourth we’ll be celebrating with friends and family and I’ll be decorating cupcakes with my paper craft Americana “Let Freedom Ring” cupcake toppers. I also have cut files for those super cute pinwheels in the background. {wink}

Wanna make some?! Me too!

These designs are part of my new Cricut Patriotic Collection. And since Cricut makes those intricate cuts so easily, I chose to make the cupcake topper an outline of the fireworks. The banner is actually a separate cut that I’ve popped out on top with a foam adhesive square. It give the topper a nice 2-D look!

To make these firework cupcake toppers you’ll need:

  • Cricut Explore™ machine
  • Cricut Design Space™ software
  • 12”x12” StandardGrip Cricut® mat
  • White Cardstock (or Photo Paper)
  • Foam Adhesive Squares
  • Glue circles
  • Bamboo sticks or lollipop sticks

Easy instructions and MAKE IT NOW in Design Space:

  1. Print then Cut – Follow the instructions in Cricut Design Space™ to print then cut the images onto white cardstock or photo paper. Tip: Choose “photo quality” in your printer settings for the best color saturation.
  2. Assemble – Layer the banner and fireworks with foam adhesive squares for a 2-D look.
  3. Attach – Add paper craft toppers to lollipop sticks with glue circles and insert into cupcakes!

Cutting these fireworks out by hand would take forever, but the Cricut pops them out in a minute or two.

I love the “Let Freedom Ring” banners too. They’re perfect for so many projects and since you can easily size them in Cricut Design Space, they can be as large as 5.5″ long!

See how they look 2-D from the top! You can see the shadows and dimension.

Or maybe a cake topper?! I say “Oh My Stars!” a lot. {grin} It’s the southern girl in me. So I thought why not make a lovely patriotic cake topper version! You can find these cuts on Cricut too!
